We Bengalis. And our Patronus!

When you live on quirky copies! Trust me on Copywriter woes! But then again, I love it...

So, there's this practice among the Bengalis of lighting specifically 14 candles or diyas on the eve of Diwali. This is to shoo away the ghosts from, or around, our homes on the eve of Diwali, before Amavas takes over!

Being a creative person and an ardent fan of Harry Potter, I just couldn't help myself from noticing the resemblance of this practice with that of creating a Patronus to protect one-wizard-self from a Dementor! Wow!
