Love you Kolkata.

       I have heard numerous times, "the grass is always greener on the other side of the river" but this time I lived through this phrase. I have realised how lucky I have been to be born and brought up in a metro-city like Kolkata!
      "I have been hating you for all the wrong reasons, Kolkata. So I really owe you an apology and I could not think of anything better than dedicating a blog post."
      I hated Kolkata for the name! It was so much better when called "Calcutta". I hated Kolkata for the way the people are! But now I realise that it's not Kolkata's fault. It's the people who have been living here for ages, and have the mentality to stick to old traditions and even stop others form advancing. It's the fault of the people who immigrate from other places for what-the-fuck-ever reasons and pollute Kolkata because they don't have any sense of belonging towards Kolkata. It's the fault of people who choose to remain illiterate. It's the fault of the people who have narrow mindsets. Kolkata is not at fault for the choices which the individuals, living here, make.
      Kolkatans are not advancing or developing. That doesn't mean Kolkata is not an advanced or well-developed city or doesn't have good facilities!
     "Kolkata, you're not at fault if the people choose the wrong leaders who have very rightly earned the name of "politicians" because of whatever they do after coming to power. You're not at fault because of the selfish ways and policies you are being run on. You're not at fault because humanity has become a mere set of letters, which I believe will soon loose it's place even in the dictionary!"
